Lyla Elk has been Mr. Smith’s paralegal/office manager for over eight years, and has worked in the legal field for over seventeen years. Graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies in 2007, and a Master of Business Administration in 2009, Mrs. Elk is a highly exceptional and proficient paralegal.
Mrs. Elk has received numerous awards for her hard work and dedication as a paralegal, which include: Grayson County Paralegal of the Year in 2004-2005 from Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, Paralegal of the Year in 2007-2008 from North Texas Legal Association, Exceptional Pro Bono Service Award from the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division in 2009-2010, and an appreciation award from Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (Grayson Legal Clinic) in 2012. She has been mentioned in numerous articles and blogs, including through the State Bar of Texas, for her hard work and dedication to her career.
Mrs. Elk has been a member of the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division since 2004, and served as Chair of the Pro Bono Ad Hoc Committee for several years.
Mrs. Elk is the Executive Coordinator for the Grayson County Bar Association. She has also served as President for the former local paralegal association of Grayson County, on numerous committees with the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division, and various other positions in other local organizations throughout the past years.
On a personal level, Mrs. Elk has resided in Grayson County for the past twenty years, and is married with one child. She is also a professional photographer, and has many hobbies that she enjoys in her free time. |
